Yoga: The Key to Maintaining Sanity in a Fast-Paced World

The Influence of Yoga on My Life

In various stages of my life, yoga has become a constant source of solace for me. During both the highs and lows, yoga serves as a fantastic outlet to unwind, release emotions, and carve out moments of peace during overwhelming times.

During a challenging period in my relationship in my early twenties, I stumbled upon a yoga class. Back then, I wasn’t in touch with my emotions, but yoga ignited a passion for personal development and self-improvement.

Recognizing our emotions and practicing mindfulness towards our body, mind, and spirit are crucial for healing and progress. This practice was less embraced in the past compared to its current acceptance today.

I recall the time I believed that if I hit pause, the whole universe might freeze in its tracks. Spoiler alert: it didn’t! But oh boy, it was pure bliss granting myself the freedom to focus on my needs and finally tune in to what truly mattered.

With that being said, I’m here to support you on your path and encourage you to take a moment to pause in this fast-paced world.

The Power of Pause

The power of pausing is crucial in today’s fast-paced world. Without taking a moment to pause, reflect, and adapt, time can swiftly slip away, leading to being stuck in life’s relentless cycle.

At times, when you’re immersed in the daily grind and hustle, it might not propel you forward; instead, it can leave you feeling overwhelmed and too stressed to contemplate whether the steps you’re taking are truly leading you to the right path for your future.

However, without pausing to reassess, how will you ever be certain?

Journal Questions:

  • Where do I envision myself in five years?
  • Am I following the right path to reach my desired destination?
  • If I could pursue anything in the world at this moment, what would it be?
  • If I took a break from work and the daily routine, would I allow myself that time, and if not, why?
  • Am I listening to my ego or is it the fear of the unknown that holds me back?

I understand that these questions may be weighty and you might not be prepared to respond at this moment. You can jot them down, save them for later, meditate on them, take a walk, and reflect on how they connect with you.

Cow Pose

Supta Gomukhasana triggers your relaxation response (parasympathetic nervous system) while suppressing your stress response (sympathetic nervous system) to combat stress and anxiety.
